From support to spotlight
The Macmillan Makeover with Gok
We wanted to shine a light on the incredible Macmillan Support Line workers whose compassion and dedication make a real difference every day.
To celebrate them, we created a competition for two outstanding workers to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience at JD Williams HQ – where they were treated to a makeover, personal styling session and a photoshoot with Gok.

Listen to our campaign soundtrack
Our latest We See You campaign brings together feel-good summer fashion with a powerful purpose. Soundtracked by our brand ambassador Gok Wan’s charity single ‘Deeper Love’, every download of this feel-good track helps raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Anne
Macmillan Support Line Nurse
Anne supports people living with cancer, those navigating life after treatment and families seeking guidance.
After turning 50 last year, she entered the competition to rediscover her style and enjoy a well-deserved moment for herself. Excited to get Gok’s expert tips on dressing for her shape, she found versatile new pieces to wear from holidays to cosy days at home, leaving her feeling confident and refreshed.
Anne’s thoughts on the day:
“Everyone we met truly made it quite a really special experience: from the girls looking after us the moment we arrived to all the amazing folk we met on the day. [Gok] and the [JDW] team gave me so much of their time, knowledge and expertise that I feel I have more of an idea about how to do my hair and make-up, and how to dress to suit my age and shape.”

Lauren
Macmillan Support Line Money Adviser
In her role as a Money Adviser, Lauren helps those affected by cancer understand their financial support options.
Looking to zhush herself up and experience something fun, she saw the competition as the perfect opportunity. A fan of bold colours and statement prints, her favourite look was the Leopard Print Co-ord. Lauren described the day as surreal and was proud to help highlight such an important cause.
Lauren’s thoughts on the day:
“Thank you so much for such an amazing experience and for taking such good care of us over the past few days. It’s been so special, and I have felt very spoilt. Thank you also for promoting our work; it’s nice to feel acknowledged personally and more importantly to shine [a] light on the cause.”

Step into The Midlife Evening Show
Style, confidence and plenty of feel-good moments took centre stage at our JD Williams Midlife Evening Show. In aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, Helen Skelton and Gok Wan joined a panel discussion on midlife visibility and the importance of finding the perfect fit.
