The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and before long, those champagne corks will be popping. The arrival of this bright and beautiful weather definitely calls for a celebration, and what better way to kick up one’s heels than with a large flute of bubbly?!

We just can’t get enough of these scorching sunny spells right now - a heatwave really was long overdue, right?! - But as we sit back and soak up the rays, we can’t help but feel a cheeky cocktail really would make everything a thousand times better.

Come rain or shine, cocktails (or mocktails, if you prefer to go alcohol-free) are always a good idea. And with so many delicious, refreshing summer cocktail recipes out there to try, you’d have to be mad not to give one or two of them a go.

At JD Williams, we love trying out new, piquant bites and bevvies, so for this blog post, we thought we’d share some of the tastiest, simple cocktail recipes and mocktail recipes that are guaranteed to sweeten up your summer’s day. So, without any further ado, let’s talk tasty tipples…

A sweet and sour sip that certainly packs a punch, you can always count on a strawberry daiquiri to get those taste buds talking - and this fabulous recipe from Diana at Little Sunny Kitchen promises the very best version of this iconic drink.

Flavoured with sweet, frozen strawberries and zingy limes, this tipple also contains fresh mint leaves, white rum and palatable powdered sugar. As a serving suggestion, we’d recommend pouring your daiquiri into a martini glass and serving with a wedge of lime. Yummy!

Much like the rest of us, vegan food blogger, Kate, from The Veg Space, loves nothing more than slurping on a yummy cocktail and letting her hair down. And we have to say, her English Garden Cocktail recipe deserves top marks.

Quintessentially British, the fresh and fruity flavour of this tipple is derived from cucumber gin, apple juice, mint and a quick squeeze of lime - and together, the ingredients make for one of the most delicious alcoholic drinks ever. We love it, and we’re sure you will, too!

5. A Refreshing Blueberry-Rosemary Lemon Mocktail - Simmer & Sauce
